Born and raised in Los Angeles Fabian Lopez received an MFA in Painting from Tyler School of Art (awarded a full scholarship – The Future Faculty Fellowship) and a BFA in Drawing and Painting from California State University – Long Beach. Lopez has participated in group and solo exhibitions in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Rome Italy among other places. Recently, he was an artist in resident at Collar Works and previously, an artist in resident at the Elizabeth Murray Artist Residency.

Before joining the art department faculty at Skidmore College, Lopez previously taught at Tyler School of Art  – Temple University and Rowan University. His work has been published in New American Painters 104 and 122, title-magazine.com, theartblog.org and newsworks.org.
